World of Warcraft mount is a giant walking tree whose leaves will change depending on the season

Last September, Blizzard gave the World of Warcraft community the opportunity to decide which free "mount" will appear in the title of the Shadowlands expansion. The choices were the Soaring Spelltome flying book, the spider-like Nerubian Swarmer, the caterpillar Curious Caterpillar, the gelatinous Gooey Slimesaber, and the huge Wandering Ancient tree. During the recent BlizzConline event, we learned that the latter won with a clear majority of votes. Now, nearly three weeks later, it can be picked up in the game. It debuted with patch 9.0.5.

Wandering Ancient was originally expected to arrive with a major update to the Chains of Domination, but instead was removed early with a minor update to 9.0.5. We don’t have a big Chains of Domination update release window yet, but it’s set to bring a lot of changes and new content to the game when it’s released.

To be able to claim your Wandering Ancient, first of all you need to have the Shadowlands expansion. Once you've met this condition, all you need to do is go to the Mounts tab in the Collections pane inside the game. Your new "mount" will be present as a gift at the very top. Press the Unwrap button to assign it to your account. That's it, you can now travel the world of Azeroth on a huge tree.

Although the delay in delivering the Wandering Ancient mount is far from ideal, you can spend the extra few days picking up some of that newly added Value, which you can use to upgrade Mythic Keystone equipment.

World of Warcraft: Shadowlands is now available for PC. Players can look forward to flying, a new mega-dungeon, raid and more in Patch 9.1.
