The best thing about the Madden NFL 15 franchise to me is the familiarity. There’s never been a Madden title that made me feel like I had no idea what was going on. It’s one of the main reasons Madden has been such a long standing sports game. People like familiarity and Madden NFL 15 soars above expectations in trying to keep this tradition going. For example, Skills Trainer. Skills Trainer is designed to ease players into the gameplay mechanics. Teaching them the essentials as well as helping them grow their own personal play-style for the inevitable online matches they will be dominating. In Skills Trainer, players get the chance to explore some of the in-game functions they may never have known how to fully control, e.g. Acceleration Burst and Total Control Passing. Admittedly, I always assumed I was using these things effectively but going through the Skills Training allowed me to better hone those abilities. In addition to these things though you will also learn how to read the field, have a better understanding of exactly what Cover 2 means, and discover the right moment to pass the ball versus tucking and running.
Madden NFL 15 feels like a video that has been rebuilt from the ground up in the graphics department in order to awe players and make them wonder how thin the line between the virtual and the real can become. Gamers will initially notice the presentation, which has been reformed to make the entire user interface, all the transitions, and the information panels resemble match casts on television, which will immerse fans in the atmosphere but can also sometimes feel a little ponderous and over dramatic. Once an actual game starts, Madden NFL 15 will once again impress with the fidelity with which it recreates stadiums and the look and movement of players, with a lot of the faces actually scanned into the game.
Unfortunately, as gorgeous as the game looks the majority of the time, there are several occurrences of glitches taking you right out of the experience. From players falling onto and walking into one another in awkward manners to players just walking straight through objects on the sidelines and end zones, the glitches can become quite noticeable. Fortunately, they don’t seem to happen as often as they have in recent years. The color commentary by Jim Nantz and Phil Simms is much improved over previous years, but they still fall into the familiar habit of repeating lines just a tad too frequently, giving players a feeling of repetition after just a few games. Outside of that, there are more situational commentary segments than ever before, including some that are surprisingly impressive (such as a conversation about how the running backs on both teams have played under one of the coaches). In addition, the new halftime report is arguably the best that has ever been seen in the series.
The beauty of Madden NFL 15 is that because the game of football is now so much better and fun to play in comparison to older versions, these detailed game modes are just the icing on the cake. And with both local and online multiplayer options available, the icing has icing. The local multiplayer is available for a one-on-one game though the Play Now mode with online multiplayer available for the Connected Franchise and Ultimate Team modes. The multiplayer was not really covered in this playtest for fear of the reviewer having his bottom handed to him and also upsetting people due to not knowing how to fully play the game. I imagine a few more hours in single player will be required before I’m ready to tackle that horse.

Find the legendary player that matches that collectible in packs, and then proceed to the legendary collection to upgrade your player to a version with chemistry. The collection description tells you what kind of chemistry your elite legendary player will have. Success in Madden 15 is not a matter of gaming the system; instead, the game encourages players to raise their football IQ and break down defenses like a pro. For the first time in a long time, the game truly feels like a football sim. This may not be an approach that all gamers find appealing, but it is certainly what John Madden had in mind when he attached his name to the franchise 26 years ago.
