Accomplishments Only available in FIFA World

FIFA World was Created by the award-winning development team at EA Canada, EA Sports FIFA World is designed to be easy to pick up and play for all fans. Featuring the award-winning EA Sports FIFA HD console gameplay, FIFA Ultimate Team, and a host of new features, the game delivers a fun and immersive football experience that is synonymous with the FIFA franchise.

The game has been in beta for almost a year now and is slowly but surely heading towards a proper release, but even now it’s clear to see that this is an idea with legs. Graphically, FIFA World doesn’t even come close to the quality of the mainstream series, even the gameplay is more basic than in the core games. Yet these drawbacks have been carefully considered: the game is intended to be played on even fairly rudimentary hardware, while the gameplay is supposed to be more accessible than in the normal FIFA games. Clearly, EA is aiming for those who wouldn’t typically play a football game on console - either because they don’t own one or because they’re not quite as game-focused as the rest of us.

The in gameplay is close to 'FIFA 14' level, but it is watered down somewhat. While most of the basics are here, some of the more advanced skill moves have not been ported over to 'FIFA World' yet. This may be fixed in later patches but I have a feeling that they might be absent due to lag issues. The graphics are nice but nothing special. If you've played the newest 'FIFA' on PS4 or Xbox One you've experienced a much better visual experience than anything you'll get in 'FIFA World.' That being said, the game doesn't look bad. In replays and pregame introductions, the detailed animations and player models really do shine. Depending on the level of your PC you can scale the graphics to different levels but overall don't expect a new gen experience.

Accomplishments Only available in FIFA World, this feature rewards players for completing tasks based on scenarios from the real world of football!  For example, if Romelu Lukaku scores a header on the weekend you may be challenged to do the same in the game and earn great rewards.  New Accomplishments are added every week so there is always something new to do.

Otherwise Ultimate Team in FIFA World is recognisably Ultimate Team from FIFA, although FIFA World's genesis before the release of FIFA 14 means that it feels like a bit of a hybrid of old and new. Item design and interface are straight out of FIFA 14, but the underlying systems are older. FIFA 14 got rid of favoured formations as a way of improving player chemistry, which made it awkward and expensive for users to experiment with different formations, but FIFA World still relies on this, while chemistry styles - the cards that permanently increase a player's stats in certain areas - are absent. It's also not possible to search the transfer market by player name or compare the prices for items you have in your inventory. These things all made FIFA 14 superior to its predecessors, so it would be nice to see them in FIFA World.

What are the controls in FIFA World?

Similar to FIFA on mobile, the idea is to make the game accessible. You can play FIFA World using a more traditional controller or keyboard controls. To simplify things even further, FIFA World comes with presumably easy-to-learn mouse controls for casual players. That said, we don’t know if it’s fair for a person using these mouse controls to compete against someone using a console controller, or whether the game divides these people via matchmaking.

How many players and teams are in FIFA World?

Right now, FIFA World has 16,000 players spread across more than 600 licensed clubs and 31 leagues.

What social features are in FIFA World?
